The US Federal Emergency Management Agency has indicated it will give nearly a hundred thousand US dollars to help restore the tsunami damaged Satala Cemetery in American Samoa.

The Cemetery, which is listed on the US national Register of Historical Places, was badly damaged in the tsunami in late September.

An Historical Preservation Officer, David Herdrich, says the force of the tsunami knocked off headstones, washed away graves and damaged several grave monuments.
