Inter Islands flights resume in American Samoa

11:39 am on 18 June 2010

American Samoa-based Inter Island Airways resumed this morning flights to Samoa as well as domestic service.

The airline's Dornier aircraft was ground on Sunday in Samoa due to mechanical problems and was then ferried to Pago Pago yesterday where final checks were carried out.

An airline official says the first flight was to Apia followed by a flight to the Manu'a islands.

While the aircraft was down, Inter Island Airways chartered Polynesian Airlines to carry it's passengers on the inter Samoa route.
