Fiji's Water Authority has shipped almost 800 thousand litres of water to islands in the Lau group battling a prolonged dry season.
The Fiji Times reports that the authority sent a boat to Vatoa and Vanuavatu after receiving requests for emergency supplies.
The boat's in Lakeba being loaded with more water to be shipped to Fulaga, Ogea and Kabara.
A spokesperson for the authority, Joe Cava, says parts of the Lomaiviti group face a similar water crisis as a result of the drought.
He's advising islanders to use water sparingly, considering the distance and the costs of transporting water.
