A court case in the Marshall Islands that has languished in the courts for more than eight years comes to a head this week.

The Marshall Islands Social Security Administration is seeking to collect more than 4.5 million US dollars from the Kwajalein Atoll Local Government.

The Administration says the money is unpaid retirement and health fund taxes.

The lawsuit was originally filed in 2002 but was delayed due to various issues over the years.
