A US Coast Guard aircrew has rescued three i-Kiribati fishermen who had been missing for three days.

The Honolulu Star Advertiser reports that the men, aged 17, 19 and 27, were found 160 kilometres west of Tarawa and are understood to be in good health.

The Coast Guard Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Honolulu launched an aircraft from Oahu last week in response to a request by the Kiribati government.
