Sport: Lam keeps faith in Kumuls players

Papua New Guinea coach Adrian Lam says his players need to cut their error rate dramatically if they're to have any chance of winning the second and final test against Fiji in Port Moresby this weekend.

The Kumuls lost 26-12 in Mount Hagen on the back of only a 42 percent completion rate with the ball.

Adrian Lam has largely kept faith with his squad - bringing in just one new player and making six positional switches.

He admits the Kumuls weren't up to scratch but saysthe players deserve the chance to rectify their performance.

"We have some great young talent coming through there but it's going to take time to rebuild them to where we were two years ago prior to the debacle last year, when politics entered into the system. We understand the road we have ahead of us but we've also got one match this weekend to try and fix up up the result."
