More typhoid cases in Fiji

Five new cases of typhoid have been confirmed at a village in Fiji.

FijiLive reports the cases are from the villages of Nanoko and Navosa in Sigatoka.

The Ministry of Health spokesman, Peni Namotu, says 29 people in the village fell ill last week and were hospitalised.

Five of them have typhoid.

Mr Namotu says gatherings in the area have been banned for the meantime.
