Vanuatu's Minister of Finance and Economic Management, Moana Carcasses, has appointed a new chairman of the Vanuatu National Provident Fund.
Simil Johnson replaces Morris Michel who resigned due to a public outcry over his appointment.
Mr Michel had been an advisor in Mr Carcasses' office.
Mr Johnson's appointment comes after a petition from the acting chair, Keith Hango, calling on the Prime Minister to intervene.
Mr Hango said the board had lacked a quorum to make decisions over the 13 billion vatu in contributions held by the Fund.
