Fiji tax authorities rub out company loss claims

5:53 pm on 14 February 2012

Companies which have pending carry forward losses to claim tax reductions in Fiji can no longer do this for any pending losses carried forward before January 2012.

The Chief Executive of the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority, Jitoko Tikolevu, has told the Fijivillage website that they are starting with a clean slate this year.

He says companies which have pending years of losses to claim in their returns have to forego that.

Mr Tikolevu also says the carry forward loss period for tax claims has also been reduced from this year.

He says the companies should take note of this as this is applicable under the current tax regime.
