Hawaiian Airlines is continuing its assistance to American Samoa's LBJ hospital by offering reduced fares for patients needing off-island treatment.

The carrier is making available 180 round-trip flights for a patient and one travel companion between Pago Pago and Honolulu at half price.

It's also offering 30 round trip flights between Honolulu and Manila at a 45 percent discount off the lowest available web fare .

Any flights using these special fares by patients and their travel companions must be booked through the LBJ Medical Center.

Last year, more than 150 patients from American Samoa made use of the programme.
