Frenchman without limbs swims between PNG and Indonesia

A Frenchman without limbs has completed an historical swim from Papua New Guinea to Indonesia, the first stage of a mission to swim between five continents.

43-year old Philippe Croizon left PNG's border village of Wutung in the early morning to begin what is described as the Oceania-Asia stretch of his challenge.

After swimming 20 kilometres over almost eight hours in strong winds and currents, Mr Croizon arrived at 1pm local time in the village of Pasar Skow in Indonesia's Papua province.
