7:42 am on 17 August 2012

Tongans and Israelis will no longer need entry permits or visas for travel between the two countries.

This is an outcome of last week's state visit to Israel by Tonga's prime minister Lord Tu'ivakano.

Radio Tonga reports the prime minister envisages many Tongans will now want to visit the religious sites in Israel and many tourists and investors from Israel will arrive in Tonga.

Lord Tu'ivakano also discussed the possibility of more aid help in areas such as public health, agriculture, security, education and solar energy.
