A Micronesian business has announced it will be bringing the international Sheraton brand to Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands when it reopens what was The Palms Resort in the northern summer next year.

The President and general manager of E-Land's Micronesia Resort Incorporated, Tae Ho Kim has also announced the company's renovation plans for the two other Saipan hotels it has acquired, Coral Ocean Point and Pacific Islands Club.

The E-Land Group is a 180 billion US dollar global firm based in South Korea.

E-Land, through its local company Micronesia Resort, acquired the 313-room The Palms Resort in San Roque in August 2011 and has since spent considerable time and money planning its eventual transformation.

The Palms Resort was previously Hotel Nikko.
