The captain of the Pacific Oceania Davis Cup tennis team says he wants one more chance to help the team win promotion back up to their rightful level.
A weakened team was relegated from Asia/Oceania Zone group three earlier this month after finishing seventh of eight teams at a tournament in Dubai.
The tie was originally schedule to take place in Myanmar in April but was moved because of political unrest.
A number of the regions top players were unavailable for the rearranged dates, with Fiji's William O'Connell and Tahiti's Gilles De Gouy making their Davis Cup debut.
The Oceania Tennis Federation Executive will decide next year whether to enter a team in the 2014 competition and the Pacific Oceania captain, Cyrille Mainguy, says he would like an opportunity to put things right.
"I honestly believe that the players we have and the team we have we probably belong to Group Three or Group Two even, but Group Three definitely, so I would request our executive to give us one more year to move back up and if we are not able to it might be the time to get that money and maybe concentrate on junior development."
