Fiji economy expected to grow 3.6 percent - Bainimarama

The Fiji Prime Minister and Minister of Finance says the economy is projected to grow by 3.6 percent by the end of the financial year.

Commodore Frank Bainimarama made the announcement during the 54th session of the Asian Productivity Organisation heads of National Productivity Organisation meeting.

The Fiji Times reports Commodore Bainimarama saying collective efforts by citizens has led to substantial progress including a strong economic platform.

He also says private sector investments this year are expected to reach 13 per cent of gross domestic product, up from around 4 percent a few years ago.
