A bus carrying Merauke Military Commander Brigadier General Bambang Haryanto and other military officers was fired upon by unidentified assailants near Freeport Indonesia's Grasberg mine in Mimika regency, Papua.
Papua Police spokesperson Sulistio Pudjo confirmed yesterday's attack to the Jakarta Post, adding no one had been injured.
He said of the six bullets fire, only one hit the bus.
A day before the attack, General Bambang and Papua Police chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian inspected three spots where unresolved shooting attacks took place in Mimika between earlier this week.
