Hard landing damages Fiji Airways plane

Fiji Airways has launched a full investigation into a hard landing of one of its new Airbus A330 planes in Sydney last week.

The captain has been grounded until results of the investigation are tabled.

The Airbus has been returned to Fiji where substantial overstress damage to the landing gear was found.

The Aviation Herald says some landing gear struts need to be replaced and it is possible all gear struts have to be replaced.

The cost of the repair is not known and it's unclear how long the aircraft will be out of use.
