Samoa's Journalist Association or JAWS is mourning the sudden death of its president, Uale Papalii, who was also the head of the government Press-secretariat.
Mr Papalii has passed away yesterday morning at the Tupua Tamasese national hospital and the cause of his death is not known but a family source says he was admitted in the hospital last week.
The late president was involved with members of the media association in the forming of Media Council legislation which was tabled in Parliament last month.
He has been serving as president of JAWS for more than four years.
