The Foreign Minister Tony de Brum says the country plans to reduce emissions by 32 percent below 2010 levels by 2025.

He says the Marshall Islands is aiming for a 45 percent reduction by 2030 which is in line with its plan for zero net emissions by 2050.

Mr de Brum says the Marshall Islands' very survival is threatened by the effects of climate change.

He was speaking ahead of a 45 nation climate meeting of foreign and environment ministers in Paris this week.
