Siaumau Siaumau is accused of the murder of Lieutenant Liusila Brown and the attempted murder of two other police officers in 2010.

Last week the public defender Douglas Fiaui moved to postpone the trial because a defence lawyer Mike White will be involved in another trial.

In addition the defence has been seeking a deferral, saying it has received just two pieces of evidence from the government.

The prosecutor objected to delaying the trial saying this is a five year old case and only now are they asking for a continuance.

Associate Justice Richmond denied the request and the trial and jury selection will begin tomorrow.
