Sport: Fiji Sports Council closes all facilities after Winston

The Fiji Sports Council has closed all of its facilities until further notice, in the wake of Cyclone Winston.

Among the 19 venues the Council manages are ANZ Stadium, Vodafone Arena, the National Hockey Centre and the Damodar Aquatic Centre in Suva, Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka and the Lautoka Regional Tennis Courts.

The Fiji Sports Awards are scheduled to be held at Vodafone Arena this Friday, while the Vinod Patel Sports Day is planned for the weekend at ANZ Stadium.

Yesterday, Fiji Football said national league matches would be postponed until further notice following major damage to a number of grounds, including in Lautoka, Nausori and Ba.
