Papua New Guinea is looking at forging increased business links with Thailand, according to PNG's prime minister.
Peter O'Neill has raised the prospect of Thailand purchasing future LNG gas production from PNG and establishing greater cooperation on fisheries.
He also said PNG is considering introducing direct flights to Thailand.
In a bilateral meeting with Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister, Prajin Juntong, at the APEC Summit in Peru last week, Mr ONeill said as trade and tourism continues to expand a new air link would be viable.
It's the latest sign of Mr O'Neill's ongoing outreach to developing economies in the Asia Pacific region for trade and business links.
"There is increased business between our two countries," he said of the link with Thailand, "and it is time we conduced a thorough feasibility assessment on the viability of a new air link."
Mr O'Neill said that Thai fisheries sector investment was increasing in PNG.
