Sport: Fiji unbeaten on day one of Dubai sevens

The defending World series and Olympic champions Fiji have gone through the first day season open tournament in Dubai, unbeaten.

Fiji beat Canada 26-19, Wales 24-12 and Argentina 22-19.

Meanwhile, Samoa missed out making the quarter-finals after losing 19-7 to England and 26-21 to New Zealand.

However, Samoa did beat Russia 17-15.

In the quarter-finals Fiji will play France while New Zealand play South Africa.

The other two games are England against Scotland and Australia against Wales.
