Public schools in the Northern Marianas have finally settled their outstanding $US2.7 million utilities bill.

After years of owing the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation, the CNMI Public School System paid the company last week.

The corporation sued the state education agency in 2013 for failing to pay over $5.9 million for utility services.

The agency agreed to pay $100,000 monthly starting in November 2015.
