A renewed effort is being made in French Polynesia to take aviation officials to court over the Air Moorea crash ten years ago which killed 20 people.

Although investigators concluded that there were major dysfunctional procedures and that a ruptured cable downed the plane, nobody was held accountable for the crash.
Tahiti media reports say the prosecution has now endorsed a fresh bid by the victims' families to take the case to the criminal court.
Those being accused of being responsible for the accident are the former director of the French civil aviation authority and the director of the group in charge of French Polynesian civil aviation safety, as well as the organisation itself.
A decision on whether the case will proceed is expected at the end of next month.
