Motorists on Niue are this week paying an extra 14 percent for their petrol.

After four years of stable prices, petrol will now cost $US1.81 for a litre of regular.
Diesel prices have risen only slightly to $US1.82 per litre.
Local reports said the government had ear-marked the additional income for repairs to the island's roads.
