Samoan Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sailele Malielegaoi's naming of two of the alleged writers was briefly publicised by Talamua Online which later retracted the story.

The lawyer, Namulau'ulu Albert Ainu'u, said he was surprised by the allegation and was now considering legal action.

He said he believed the allegation was an attempt by the prime minister to undermine the credibility of a group Namulau'ulu belonged to called Samoa Solidarity International, which he said was opposed to the government's land law changes.

"This whole thing about OLP, this is all part of the process to just trying to attack us and diminish the value of our message," Namulau'ulu said.

"Even though OLP, I give him a lot of credit and he is the one who started it or she is the one who started this whole thing with awakening people to show them how much corruption is going on," he said.

Namulau'ulu said Samoa Solidarity International had been actively protesting against the Lands and Titles Registration Act 2008 because the group believed it was an affront to all Samoans and their right to customary land ownership.
