AT THE MOVIES #841                    FACT?  FICTION?

Simon Morris looks at the grey area of truth, lies and films “based on” actual events.  There’s one film based on a real-life racehorse, another inspired by a legal defense of demonic possession, and a realistic story based on a graphic novel.

Dream horse is a drama based on the heartwarming story of a Welsh village that bought a racehorse.  Starring Toni Colette, Damian Lewis and Owen Teale (Game of Thrones), it’s directed by Euros Lynn (Broadchurch).

The Conjuring 3:  The Devil made me do it sees demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren return to investigate another case of diabolic possession.   Stars Vera Farmiga (Up in the air) and Patrick Wilson (Aquaman).

And comedy actor Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners) talks about his directorial debut, a well-received adaptation of the funny/sad graphic novel, Days of Bagnold Summer.
