Simon Morris looks at three movies, each one featuring actors strongly picked for future stardom – Kiwi actor Thomasin McKenzie, Australian actor Hugo Weaving’s daughter Samara, and TV show Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp.  

 

Old is the latest from thriller king M Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense). A group of holidaymakers are trapped on a mysterious beach, where they find themselves aging incredibly rapidly.

 

Waiting for Anya is an adaptation of a book by Sir Michael Morpurgo (War Horse).  Set in Occupied France, a village woman (Anjelica Huston) protects a group of Jewish children, hoping them to smuggle them to safety over the Spanish border.   

 

And Snake Eyes looks at the origins of a famous member of the G I Joe crew.  Snake Eyes joins a Japanese ninja clan to get revenge for the death of his father.  Stars Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians).
