1.35 Yard ActThe four lads from Leeds are coming to Laneway.

Yard Act’s debut album The Overload was released in January, landing a number 2 album in the UK, smashing vinyl sales records in the process and making them one of the most talked about bands on the planet.
The Overload is a political record, but in the same way that all great observations of human nature are – a messy, complex, knowingly hypocritical snapshot of our current state of play.

Charlotte Ryan speaks to frontman James Smith about their breakthrough year and coming to Laneway.

2.10  DARTZ The Band From Wellington New Zealand

Wellington band DARTZ are one of the latest local band to sign to Flying Nun Records - and just weeks ago released their debut album.

The band consist of guitarist Crispy, bassist Clark Mathews, drummer Rollyz, and vocalist Danz - who as well as writing lyrics and singing - also designs all the band art and created the clever political comic ‘Yee Ha The Boys’.

The Band from Wellington, New Zealand is a collection of eight of their fans’ favourite DARTZ hits (newly re-recorded at Roundhead Studios), as well as two previously unrecorded songs

Charlotte Ryan speaks to Danz - singer, writer and illustrator about their new album, art and political satire.
