2.10 Music 101 LIVE Grace Cummings

Grace Cummings is a folk/blues musician from Australia who says she takes influence by 20th century poets and luminaries such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Paul Kelly.

Her voice is powerful as you will hear and her songwriting intensely personal.

Last year she released her album STORM QUEEN to critical acclaim.

In her short career, Grace has been invited to support Weyes Blood, Evan Dando, J Mascis and the Allah-Lahs in Melbourne.

She is currently touring NZ with The Veils so we asked her to come in and play her a Live Session.

Her last album It’s Your Birthday won her an Aotearoa Music Award for Best Alterna-tive Artist, and received a nomination for the Taite Prize. She’s just released Ideal Home Noise via Flying Nun Records, an album that was the product of some tough times, but is full of joyous songs. Tony Stamp visited Vera in Wellington to learn more.
