1.30 DLT talks 'Chains' & Hip Hop Stand Up Documentary season 3

NZ HIP HOP STAND UP Series 3 launched this week, continuing the journey of delving deeper into the rich, diverse landscape of Aotearoa’s hip hop history..
And exploring some of the most ground-breaking and influential tracks to have been released over the past three decades.

Season 3 celebrates the 1989 hip hop hit  “She’s a Mod/Mod Rap” by Double J and Twice the T , the classic ‘Chainz’ by DLT and Che Fu, as well as tracks by Nesian Mystik, Ladi 6, Lost Tribe Melodownz, Fast Crew & Melodownz. 
And much like the first and second series, key figures of Aotearoa’s hip hop scene, lend their expertise and share memories of how these tracks came together One of these Key figures is DLT.

2.00 The Damned's Captain Sensible

Legendary British punk pioneers, The Damned, have announced their return to New Zealand for a series of shows next week.

Formed in 1976, alongside The Clash and Sex Pistols The Damned are regarded a as a seminal force punk music - some including Motörhead’s Lemmy believed they were “the only real punk band”.

Charlotte Ryan spoke to frontman Captain Sensible about the bands live shows and asked if they are still as punk as their reputation proceeds.

The Damned with Captain sensible play next Friday, June 2nd at the Powerstation, Auckland & Saturday, June 3rd at San Fran in Wellington Tickets here. The band's 12th studio album, Darkadelic, is out now.

3:15 Introducing: Coast Arcade

This week on Introducing its a four piece indie rock band from Tamaki Makaurau called Coast Arcade. 

Their new E.P 'Next to Me' was recorded at Joel Little's 'Big Fan' studios - in between exams - as two band members are still at school.  

They've been playlisted on Apple Music, are playing a sold out show at Big fan tonight in Tamaki Makaurau.

Womb are a Poneke based trio of siblings -  twins Haz & Cello, and sister Georgie Forrester. 
The band has been captivating audiences since 2018 with their beautiful ethereal shoegazey - dream pop and in 2021 signed to Flying Nun Records.

They have been a favourite of ours at Music 101 for a while now, so we invited the band to perform a special NZMM session for us.
