RNZ Music is stoked to present your 2020 summer jam ‘Frozen in L.A’ from kiwi indie-pop act Alae. This is the band’s fifth release this year after smash hits ‘Hit Me Where It Hurts’ and ‘Summer Thing’.
Alae started out as multi-instrumental two-piece Alex Farrell-Davey and Allister Meffan, and now includes drummer Jayden Lee and bassist Marika Hodgson, who also makes music under the moniker Sorrento.
‘Frozen in LA’ is Alae’s fifth major release, following up their most recent EP release, Lucy’s Mix Tape (which features the smash hits, ‘Hit Me Where It Hurts’ and ‘Summer Thing’).
The new track shows another musical side to Alae, who have infused their latest singles with a blend of pop and groove. ‘Frozen in LA’ highlights Alex Farrell-Davey’s smooth yet funky vocals, which are underpinned by Marika Hodgson on bass.
