It's estimated that 5.3 billion mobile phones will become waste this year. Despite being packed with precious metals like gold, silver and palladium and other recyclable parts most will not be disposed of properly.

This mountain of e-waste (that if piled on top of each other would reach 120 times higher than the International Space Station) is only part of e-waste problem with other small consumer electronics such as remotes, headphones and clocks.

9:07 Turning musicians' brain waves into art

Artist Simon Ingram has teamed up with contemporary classic ensemble NZ Trio for a special performance as part of Dunedin Arts Festival 2022.

Rhythms of the Brain will see the trio - Amalia Hall (violin), Ashley Brown (cello) and Somi Kim (piano) - performing  brand new commission 'Asymptote' by local composer Alex Taylor. While performing the trio will be connected to machinery that will interpret their brainwaves into paintings.

Tricia Thompson is the proud owner of the Eco-Gran Garden in Taranaki and has some great spring gardening tips for us. Tricia can offer particularly helpful advice for people with small plots, those keen on sustainable gardening, and anyone entertaining the idea of getting a few chickens.

James Glucksman and James Boussy have owned the Pen-y-Bryn Lodge for nearly 13 years, but the pair are listing the grand home as they prepare for the next stage of their lives.

The Victorian single-storey home was built in 1889 and has seven bedrooms, four bathrooms, five en suites, and two garages - all situated on a 5000sq m property.
