A Christchurch man has died after falling down a bank, as he was having his photo taken by friends.
The 47-year-old man was posing on a grassed embankment 500 metres above the Rakaia Gorge, off State Highway 77, when the incident happened yesterday.
Police said the man appeared to have lost his balance as he was having his photo taken by a friend.
His body was found about 30 to 40 metres down the bank.
