Chinese telco executives in NZ to look at opportunities

7:21 am on 12 March 2012

Chinese executives from global telecommunications infrastructure provider Huawei are in New Zealand from Monday to look at opportunities with local companies.

Huawei works with 45 of the world's top 50 telcos and its products have been implemented in more than 100 countries, including New Zealand.

Senior executives from its headquarters in China will meet with New Zealand ICT companies this week to explore the opportunities between the two countries and make a commercial assessment.

The visit was sparked by a trip to China by New Zealand's Trade Minister Tim Groser in 2011.
