Wynyard Group helps fight drug trafficking

Crime-fighting software developed by Wynyard Group will be used to help protect Thailand's borders from drug trafficking.

South East Asia is a growing market for the company, which already has 19 justice agencies in the region using its security software.

It has now signed Thailand's customs department to use its software to help identify and disrupt the activity of drug trafficking gangs at the country's border.

Wynyard managing director Craig Richardson said the deal in Thailand rounded out a positive year for the company, and it had good growth prospects for the year ahead, especially in Asia.

"We set out to build a high growth company and I think this year we've grown by more than 60% in our revenue and we're really now looking at 2014," Mr Richardson said.

Teams in South-East Asia, the Middle East, the United States and Europe were all working on "progressing interesting opportunities", so the company was going into 2014 with a full sales pipeline. That was what it had set out to do, so it was happy with its position, he said.

Shares in Wynyard rose 9 cents to $1.14 on Tuesday.
