A Hamilton-based aircraft maker is working with an American contractor to bid for a contract to supply the United States air force with light mobility trainer aircraft.

Pacific Aerospace, which is based at Hamilton Airport, is working with New York-based L3 Platform Integration to bid for the work.

The companies plan to offer a variant of the P-750 aircraft, which can take off and land within less than 250 metres of runway.
