Hamilton City Council is holding a public victory celebration for the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic netball team.
The team became the first New Zealand side to win the trans-Tasman netball competition when they beat the Melbourne Vixens in Melbourne on Sunday.
The welcome celebration will be held on Thursday afternoon at Claudelands Arena, a regular venue for the Magic.
Mayor Julie Hardaker will formally congratulate the team on behalf of the city.
