The Armed Offenders Squad was called to a Dunedin home on Thursday after shots were fired outside the property.
Police said a man threatened to shoot people he lived with and fired shots outside the house on Tedder Street about midnight.
They say several firearms were confiscated.
A 51-year-old man was arrested and will appear in Dunedin District Court on Friday on firearms-related charges.
