A Canterbury man has pleaded guilty to his part in an international paedophile ring.

Last month three New Zealand men were charged with a range of sexual acts on four boys between 18 months and 13 years of age, and with making and distributing objectionable images.

Aaron Ellmers and an Auckland man whose name is suppressed had already pleaded guilty to a total of 80 related charges.

On Tuesday, a third man pleaded guilty to 19 charges in Oamaru District Court including indecent assault and unlawful sexual connection with a boy and making, possessing and distributing objectionable images.

He was originally charged with 42 crimes but more than half have been withdrawn.

The man cannot be identified because of court orders to protect his victims.

He will sentenced on 5 June.
