Police say a fire that extensively damaged a Lower Hutt house early on Saturday morning was deliberately lit.
The Fire Service was called to the York St address at about 4am to find a well -stablished fire. Police say a group of four youths were seen running from the area into a reserve.
There was no one in the house at the time of the fire.
