The police want the public's help to trace the movements of a 24-year-old man charged with the murder of Edward Tahakura, whose body was found on Otaki Beach last week.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan believes the accused hitchhiked from the Otaki area to Wellington in the early hours of Thursday morning, before making his way to Tokoroa in a number of different vehicles.
The man is described as a 1.8 metre tall medium-built Maori with closely shaven black hair.
