Police in Wellington have charged a 19-year-old woman with assault after she was identified in a road rage video posted on the social networking site Facebook.
The incident occurred on Sunday on the Ewen Bridge in Lower Hutt and appeared online that day, having been recorded by someone with a cellphone.
The woman who was allegedly punched in the face has not yet made a complaint to Police.
Senior Sergeant Carolyn McKenzie is appealing for her and a witness at the scene to come forward, but says the case is not dependent on that.
She says the video serves as a useful reminder that people need to keep their cool on the roads this summer.
The woman will appear in court in late January.
