A man has been arrested after failing to appear in court over the assault of a woman in the Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe.
Praveet Singh was walking in the early evening last month when she was attacked from behind by a man holding a bottle.
The attack left Ms Singh with fractured eye sockets, a broken nose and bruises on her face. At the time, she told media she was upset that witnessess didn't intervene.
Police say 26-year-old Lual Lual failde to appear in court on Friday on charges of injuring whith intent to cause grevious bodily harm.
He will appear in court on Monday where police will oppose bail.
