A would-be online lover is stealing from women across the nation whom he contacts on internet dating sites.
Police in Christchurch are seeking a man wanted in connection with a string of dishonesty offences, allegedly committed after preying on women he met on internet dating sites.
Forty-six-year-old Shane William Grogan - also known as Shane Calder - is wanted in relation to charges of theft from a house, using a document for pecuniary advantage and unlawfully taking a car.
Acting Sergeant Chris Macpherson says the alleged offending is particularly deceptive and predatory.
He says Mr Grogan has taken advantage of his victims after posing as a friend and gaining their trust along with access to their homes and belongings, then making off with jewellery and cash.
Police are urging any other victims to come forward.
