Police in Timaru have laid manslaughter charges against four people in relation to the death of an Ashburton man in May.
The body of Arran Gairns was found in a drainage run-off in a commercial area.
Three local men and a Wellington woman had earlier been charged with assault and robbery and all are expected to appear in the Timaru District Court on Thursday.
Police believe there was an attempt to rob Mr Gairns the day before his body was found.
