A homicide investigation is continuing into the death of 54-year-old Ihaia Gillman-Harris, who was found injured in his room on Saturday, and died later that day in Auckland Hospital.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard said the police were still wanting more information about the two men who were seen leaving the motel room that morning.

He said the police had received a lot of information from the public about the identity of the two men, as well as background on Mr Gillman-Harris' life.

Mr Beard said anyone with information that may help with the investigation to come forward.
