A woman died at the Waterloo Railway Station in Lower Hutt on Saturday morning.
Police say she appears to have fallen down a flight of steps.
Her body was found by a member of the public at about 7.45am.
Police say the death appears to have been an accident and will be reported to the coroner.
Train services were delayed for a time.
