Parole case adjourned for killer of tagger

11:37 am on 15 April 2010

A man who killed a south Auckland tagger is not about to be released on parole.

Bruce Emery was jailed for four years and three months for fatally stabbing Pihema Cameron, 15, after catching him spray painting his property in January 2008.

Emery, who was sentenced in February last year, is now eligible for parole.

But the Parole Board says his release was not considered at a meeting on Tuesday.

The board says Emery consented to the adjournment after discussions. It will now consider his parole in July.

Parole can be considered after one-third of a prison sentence has been served.
